Research focus

Laser powder bed fusion, shape memory alloys, and architected materials.

Shape memory alloys

LPBF of NiTi and Cu‑Al‑Ni SMAs – phase transformation, superelasticity, and microstructural control.

TPMS metamaterials

Design and characterisation of Schwarz primitive & gyroid lattices for energy absorption and biomedical devices.

Materials characterisation

SEM, XRD, EDS, thermal analysis and mechanical testing (tensile, fatigue, compression).

current project – Khalifa University

Laser powder bed fusion of NiTi TPMS lattices

Developing process parameters for defect‑free NiTi lattices (gyroid, primitive). Investigating compression behaviour, fatigue life, and shape memory response for aerospace and biomedical applications.
